Strangely enough, it appears that benshapiroonline.com has been consumed by the same evil portal often found cybersquatting on many other domains. Maybe his page hosting service is on the fritz? Google cache shows the original page, though.

Alas, your facts are not correct as you present them. Virgin Ben does not describe himself as orthodox. He describes himself as ULTRA-orthodox. Note the site’s name “ultra-orthoblog.”

What is ultra-Orthodox? Hasidic? Does it have a meaning? Does he have a beef with people who are just Orthodox? Why not super-Orthodox?

I suspect Mr Shapiro would find solace in the exception to the ban on lashon harah:

“You are allowed to speak lashon harah to help someone, to prevent someone from being victimized, or to resolve major disputes but only when what you say is based on firsthand information, what you’re saying is true and accurate, the person who is in the wrong has been spoken to and refuses to change, there is no other way to meet the goal, and what you say will not cause undue harm.”

A fair number of right-wingers seem to ‘think’ that way.

Finally, to answer Mr. Isbell, the Ultra-Orthodox are those guys in black coats, with payes and beards. Some of them are Hassidim (followers of a mystical branch of Judaism); most are not. If Ben’s Ultra-Orthodox, I’m a virgin.

I have a hard time believing anyone who is not allowing their Elephant Ego to overload their Mosquito Ass would call Charlie Rangel, holder of the Bronze Star and Purple Heart a “semi-pacifist” without meaning it perjoratively.

The Virgin Ben should never say “I have no interest in military service, but would go if called.” That’s nonsense, What is he interested in then, if not keeping his country free? I have seen or read nothing he has written to make me believe that he would head down to the recruiter any sooner than Jenna or Barbara Bush would.
