Note:These pages make extensive use of the latest XHTML and CSS Standards. They ought to look great in any standards-compliant modern browser. Unfortunately, they will probably look horrible in older browsers, like Netscape 4.x and IE 4.x. Moreover, many posts use MathML, which is, currently only supported in Mozilla. My best suggestion (and you will thank me when surfing an ever-increasing number of sites on the web which have been crafted to use the new standards) is to upgrade to the latest version of your browser. If that's not possible, consider moving to the Standards-compliant and open-source Mozilla browser.

30 Seconds

Apparently, CBS, in its corporate wisdom, won’t air their ad during the Superbowl.

But that’s no reason for me not to, is it?

Download the video from Bushin30seconds.org.
“Child’s Pay” — The ad CBS won’t air.

(This is also a little masochistic exercise to see whether one can serve up Quicktime movies using valid markup.)

Re: 30 Seconds

Yeah, I’ve been able to imbed valid references to quicktime movies, too, but you’ve got the same problem I have: the value of autoplay is always ignored.

Re: 30 Seconds

You’re using Safari.

Interestingly, OmniWeb (which uses the same WebCore rendering engine) does not have this problem.

And neither, of course, does Mozilla.

It was, as I say, an experiment…

Re: 30 Seconds

Yes, I should have mentioned that it’s specific to my favorite browser. It’s an annoying bug that makes me reluctant to use quicktime tracks of any kind, since I really dislike sites that start throwing sound at me as soon as I go to them…and I don’t want to inflict such a nuisance on anyone else.

Re: 30 Seconds

As if your erroneous Bushonomics-bashing didn’t tell me all I needed to know, your lack of knowledge in the browser field leads me to avoid your site henceforth.

I’m currently viewing your page with Firefox - which is Mozilla - and autoplay still doesn’t occur. DOH!

Poor literacy skills

And you can’t read.

It’s not supposed to autoplay.
